SMASH SCREEN
Privacy Policy
Your desktop may get smashed. Your personal files stay yours.
Last updated:
This policy explains how Smash Screen handles information when you play this browser game, use its local features, or contact support. Smash Screen is operated by Delulu Ventures LLP (âweâ, âusâ, or âourâ), which is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For privacy questions or requests, email support@smashscreengame.com.
1. Information used by the game
You can play without an account, name, email address, payment information, or sign-in. The website uses Google Analytics to understand visits and improve the service. Google AdSense is planned but is not enabled. The game does not upload selected images, replay frames, or saved progress to us.
2. Local storage and cookies
The game uses your browserâs local storage, under the key smash_screen_v1, to
remember settings, achievements, records, lifetime bug totals, used tools, discoveries,
experience, challenge medals, and desktop preferences. This data stays in that browser
profile. The local game save is not used for advertising. Google Analytics may set analytics
cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions, including cookies whose names begin with _ga.
You can remove these through your browserâs site-data controls.
Saved progress remains until you clear this siteâs browser data or your browser removes it. You can remove it in your browserâs site-data settings; doing so resets your saved progress and preferences. Blocking storage does not prevent play, but progress may not persist. Private browsing may remove progress when the session ends. We cannot retrieve or delete local data remotely.
3. Images, screenshots, and replays
If you choose an image as a wallpaper, the browser reads and resizes that selected file locally. It is not uploaded to a server. The current scene, selected image, and replay frames are held for the current session rather than saved as an account history.
Replay capture records the gameâs canvas, not your entire screen, camera, or microphone. You can turn capture off in settings. Starting a fresh round clears the replay buffer; closing or reloading the page clears session memory. Screenshots, GIFs, and videos are downloaded to your device only when you export them. Downloaded files remain until you delete them. Anything visible in a custom wallpaper can appear in an export, so review exports before sharing. Sharing through another service is covered by that serviceâs policy.
4. Website delivery and technical information
Loading the hosted website sends ordinary web requests to its hosting infrastructure. Those requests necessarily expose technical information such as your IP address, requested address, browser information, and request time to the provider delivering the site. Hosting or security services may keep access or error logs to deliver content, troubleshoot problems, and prevent abuse. These infrastructure records are separate from locally stored gameplay data.
Google Analytics processes website usage information as described below. Hosting log settings and retention depend on the deployed infrastructure; contact us for details about records associated with your visit.
Google Analytics and planned Google AdSense services
Google Analytics is enabled on this website. Google AdSense is planned and is not currently enabled. The advertising details below describe the planned service.
Google Analytics: we use site usage information, such as page views, visits, approximate location, browser and device details, referral information, and interactions, to understand and improve the website. Google may use cookies or similar identifiers to distinguish visits. The information collected will depend on the configuration and your consent choices.
Google AdSense: we intend to display advertisements supplied by Google and its advertising partners. These services may use cookies, identifiers, IP addresses, browser information, ad interactions, and information about visits to this and other sites to deliver ads, measure performance, limit repeated ads, and detect fraud. Where enabled and permitted, personalized ads may be based on interests inferred across sites. Non-personalized ads may still use storage or process technical information for delivery, measurement, and security.
The current Google Analytics tag loads when a page is opened. This version does not include a site consent interface. You can block cookies in your browser or use Googleâs Analytics opt-out tool linked below. Where consent is required, applicable consent controls must be configured before collecting optional analytics or advertising data.
Google and advertising partners may receive personal information directly when their services load and may process it internationally under their published terms. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, read Googleâs privacy policy, or manage personalization at Google My Ad Center. Google also provides a Google Analytics browser opt-out add-on. These controls supplement any site consent controls; they do not replace them.
We will update this policy when services or their settings change. Applicable laws may treat some advertising disclosures as a âsaleâ or âsharingâ of personal information, even without a monetary payment. Any required opt-out controls and applicable browser privacy signals must be addressed before enabling that processing.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
Our hosting provider Cloudflare also supplies a browser performance beacon. It measures page visits and performance, using information such as page addresses, referrers, browser and device details, and loading timings. This service is separate from Google Analytics. Learn more in Cloudflareâs data collection documentation.
5. Contacting support
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, attachments, and the technical headers delivered with that message. We use this information to respond, resolve issues, and handle privacy requests. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or unnecessary sensitive information. Providing support information is voluntary, although we may need enough detail to respond.
6. Purposes and legal bases
We use information to provide the website, remember the preferences you choose on your device, answer messages, protect the service, and meet applicable legal duties. Where data protection law requires a legal basis, support and security processing rely on legitimate interests in responding to requests and maintaining a reliable service, subject to your rights. Processing required by law relies on legal obligations. Where consent is required for optional processing, it must be obtained before that processing occurs and can be withdrawn.
7. Sharing and service providers
In the current build, we do not sell personal information or disclose information for targeted advertising. The planned advertising practices and associated choices are described above. Hosting, security, and email providers may process the limited information necessary to deliver their services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims. Local progress, uploaded wallpapers, and unshared replay frames are not sent to these providers by the game.
8. Retention and international processing
Support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to resolve the request, manage related follow-up, and meet applicable legal or security requirements. Technical log retention depends on the hosting service and its security needs. Information no longer needed should be deleted or anonymized. Contact us to ask about retention for a particular record.
Hosting and email services may process information in countries other than yours. Applicable protection and transfer requirements depend on the provider and location. You may contact us for information about the providers, processing locations, and any safeguards relevant to your information.
9. Your choices and rights
You can play without contacting us, decline to select a wallpaper, disable replay capture, and clear local browser data. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, restrict processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email support@smashscreengame.com to exercise your rights. We may request proportionate information to verify a request and will respond within applicable legal time limits. We cannot identify a local save or access files on your device. You may also complain to your local data protection authority; UK residents can contact the Information Commissionerâs Office.
10. Childrenâs privacy
The game does not ask players for their age or create player accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through support communications. A parent or guardian who believes a child has sent us personal information can contact us to request review and deletion, subject to applicable law.
11. Security and automated decisions
The game limits network access through a content security policy and keeps gameplay processing on your device. No website, email system, or storage method can guarantee absolute security. We do not use game scores or activity for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
12. Changes and contact
We will update this page when practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law. For questions about this policy or your information, contact support@smashscreengame.com.
